The Friendship Tour | Friendship, Community, Faith, How to Make Friends

Hi Ladies! Let’s talk about FRIENDSHIP! Are you trying to figure out how to make friends or keep friends as an adult? Are you longing for deeper, more meaningful connections in your local community? Would life be easier, richer or more fun if you had a village of people you could really count on? You’re in the right place! The Friendship Tour celebrates and explores the true gift of friendship. We talk about making friends well into adulthood, keeping friends even when we have transient lifestyles and various demands on our time, and creating more meaningful connections with people who share our passions and values. I’m Cecelia - wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend. I’ve moved a lot as a military spouse, and I’ve had the pleasure of making new friends in communities around the globe. Keeping those friendships going has been an honor and a privilege. Still, I don’t get to see or talk to my friends as often as I would like. So, I started The Friendship Tour as a way to connect and reconnect with friends near and far. Somewhere along the way, though, I discovered that friendship is not only beautiful, but complicated! So, let’s explore friendship together…the ups, the downs, the joys, the frustrations, and the FUN. Why? So we can ALL enjoy the community and sisterhood we need and want. Next steps? 1. Grab a seat and maybe a tissue or two and join me on The Friendship Tour! 2. Join the conversation about friendship at bit.ly/thefriendshiptourpodcast. Interested in Connecting Further? It happens to all of us. Life hits us with something unexpected, and we're not sure how we'll get through it, what we should do next, or how it will all work out.
I experienced a rather long season of infertility. In my mid-thirties, after experiencing infertility for many years, I didn't want to have hope, I didn't want to pray, and I honestly didn't want to think about it any more. I just wanted to move on. Then, God sent Theresa Johnson to encourage me, pray for me, and help build my faith.
Many years and three children later, Theresa and I continue to celebrate how God worked it all out and how He used her and her story to restore my faith in this area.

Twenty years ago, I did something stupid and petty, and I hurt my dear friend, Dr. L'Tanya Morrow-Cain. I can blame it on youth or wedding planning stress, but the truth is it just wasn't right. But you know what? My friend forgave me! And, she taught me a few life lessons in the process.
She taught me that honesty is always the best policy. She taught me that even if you're honest, there could still be consequences. And the best lesson of all? She taught me how good it feels to be forgiven.
It's been 20+ years since "the incident", but our friendship is still going strong - because I asked for forgiveness and my dear friend was willing to forgive.
Join me on The Friendship Tour as I discuss forgiveness with my lifelong friend, Dr. Morrow-Cain.

I will never forget these words: "Oh, Honey. Let it out." They were the kindest words, the gentlest words, and some of the most impactful words every spoken to me. These few simple words, spoken by my dear friend, Alexandria Fichera, somehow gave me freedom to be...ME.
Everyone talks about being authentic, but what does that really mean? I'll tell you what it means to me. It means sharing the good and the bad. It means sharing the ups and the downs. It means being open, honest, and a tad bit vulnerable with people you trust.
Why is authenticity important? Well, I've found that it's often the key to deeper friendships, personal freedom, and personal peace.
In this episode, I discuss authenticity, openness, honesty, vulnerability and so much more with my friend, Alexandria Fichera. We explore how her loving invitation to open up a bit on our first outing as friends turned into a trusted friendship I could lean on during various seasons of my life. So, please join me on The Friendship Tour!
